If you love wine cocktails, this recipe is one you will love. It uses Strawberry Basil Haus to give it tons of flavor.

Because of the fruity flavor, this drink is great in spring, and of course summer, but the addition of the basil makes it perfect all year long.

The pretty pink color makes it a fun cocktail to serve for girl’s night in or even bridal or baby showers! And, of course, it’s lovely to sip on for any happy hour.

If you don’t have Haus, you can still make this cocktail. I’ll tell you how below. Or browse my other vodka recipes to find something to mix.

What is Haus

If you aren’t familiar with Haus, you can read all about why you need to drink Haus Aperitif. But long story short, Haus is a brand of flavored aperitif wines. They’re made from natural ingredients and flavors.

Haus recently released the limited-edition Strawberry Basil flavor and sent me a bottle to try along with this recipe. It’s one of my favorite flavors yet! Grab it before it’s gone!

Haus is a great addition to mixed drink recipes because it adds so many layers of flavor. You’ll also want to check out some of my other Haus cocktails.

Ingredient Notes

Fresh strawberries and basil give this drink a beautiful color and delicious taste. If you aren’t a fan of basil, you could substitute it with another herb, just remember the basil flavor is a big part of the Haus.

The star of the show for this vodka cocktail is the Haus. It’s layered with flavor from sweet strawberries, five types of basil and jasmine.

If you don’t have it or don’t want to buy it, you can use a strawberry simple syrup instead. Or you could muddle strawberries and use Basil Simple Syrup. It will lose some of the complexity but will still be a tasty drink.

Some vodka and bubble water round out the ingredients. Use your favorite brands. I would skip flavored varieties so the fresh flavors of the fruit and herbs can shine through.

Tips and Tricks

  • Not a fan of vodka? Try it with a splash of gin!
  • If you want to make this drink with less alcohol, just leave the vodka out.
  • Play around with the flavors by using tonic water in place of the club soda or even a splash of sparkling wine.
  • Strawberry Basil Haus can be sipped straight! It’s super delicious on its own. Or you can work it into any cocktail recipe for a unique taste.
  • Make a totally unique drink by keeping this basic recipe but swapping out the flavor of Haus.

Fequently Asked Questions

Can I use frozen strawberries?

For best taste, I suggest using fresh strawberries if at all possible. But you can use frozen (not frozen in syrup) in a pinch. I would thaw a berry or two, add it to a blender with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and blend up. Then place that in the glass with the basil and continue with the recipe as written.

What type of basil do I use?

There are many types of basil and you could use any of them in this recipe. There are slight flavor differences. Most regular grocery stores only carry one type so the choice will probably already be made for you.

Where do I buy Strawberry Basil Haus?

Strawberry Basil Haus is a limited-edition flavor and is purchased from DrinkHaus.com. Get it while you can!
