You don’t need to be a tequila lover to like this cocktail. I love looking for unique tequila drinks that aren’t your everyday margarita. And this one is a great option!

It is also super customizable with your favorite brands and flavors of fruit juice. What is there not to love?!

You only need 4 ingredients to make a fruity Tequila Spritzer!

Here’s what you need to make this Tequila Spritzer recipe:

  • tequila
  • fresh lime juice
  • mango orange passion juice, chilled
  • club soda, chilled

I prefer tequila blanco for fruity cocktails, but any type of tequila will work in this cocktail. I wouldn’t use your best bottle as you’re mixing it with fruit juice, after all!

Cazadores is one of my go-to brands.

Fresh lime juice is best here as the acidity helps balance this tequila drink, but Rose’s Lime will work in a pinch.

I love this Mango, Orange, and Passionfruit juice blend but you can use whatever fruity, tropical juice you can find.

Variations

  • Add champagne – for a luxe version of this Tequila Spritzer, top up with chilled champagne (or any other sparkling wine!) to make the best champagne spritzer with tequila!
  • Change up the fruit juice – I love the tropical feels of the mango, orange and passion fruit juice here, but literally, any fruit juice (okay, except for tomato because the only time watering down tomato juice works is if you’re using beer!) would make a super tasty drink here.
  • Add grapefruit juice – you’ve already got orange and lime in there, but if you want to up the citrus flavor of this tequila spritzer, add a little grapefruit juice to the mix!
  • Use flavored soda water – this is just another way to add more layers of flavor!
  • Try it with rum – tropical fruit juices pair really well with rum! If you want something to instantly transport you to the islands, make this with white or spiced rum.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this spritz ahead for a crowd?

Sure, instead of shaking together the fruit juices and tequila with ice, simply mix them together and keep in a pitcher in the fridge ready to be poured over ice and topped with soda water just before serving.

Can I make this cocktail any sweeter?

Yes! You can add simple syrup to taste. Keep in mind you will want to taste whatever store-bought juice you use before adding more sugar because they will vary in sweetness by flavor combination and brand.

Have you got any garnish suggestions?

I always think the best garnishes are a nod to the flavors in the drink, so because this is tropical, I’ve added a piece of pineapple crown from the refrigerator. Thin mango, lime or orange slices would also be great here, or if you’re serving these tequila spritzers to guests and want to impress I think serving them with these cute edible flower ice cubes would be a lovely touch!
