    Fun Dip Shot with Tequila

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

Mix two of your favorite flavors to create a super fun shot idea!

This Fun Dip Shot with tequila uses the Mango Lime flavored Fun Dip candy to give it a delicious flavor.

Fun Dip Candy is a fun, nostalgic candy that can be used in a bunch of ways.

You’re going to love this sweet boozy shot!

A Fun Dip Shot with Tequila

Sometimes I do weird things. I like to take things that maybe don’t seem like they go together and put them together.

Take my Cheetos and Goat Cheese log appetizer. And my Cheetos Cupcakes…

And when they work, they are unique and amazing treats.

This Fun Dip shot with tequila works. And it’s delicious.

I don’t do shots often, but sometimes it is just fun to put one together when you’re hanging out with friends.

And if you have kids, chances are you’ve got candy hanging around pretty much constantly.

It would almost be a crime to not make things like Fun Dip Flavored Whipped Cream.

What is in a Fun Dip Shot

There are a few different types of recipes that involve Fun Dip candy. Some aim to taste like the candy without including any.

Others, the type I prefer, use the candy to flavor a recipe.

You can include anything in a Fun Dip Shot.

For this one, I kept it really simple with just the Dulceria edition Fun Dip and some reposado tequila.

Where can I find the Fun Dip

I’m so bummed that it looks like the Mango Lime Fun Dip is no longer available on Amazon where I bought it.

I will keep my eyes out for it and update if it comes back in stock.

I certainly won’t talk about how delicious the tamarind flavored Lik-a-Stix is… That would just be mean.

While Fun Dip is easiest to find in Cherry, Blue Raspberry/Apple, you can also find it in Watermelon and Strawberry.

Truthfully, you can use any flavor and mix it with tequila. Mango Lime works best, but you can’t go wrong with another flavor.

From time to time Fun Dip comes out with new limited edition flavors so if you see those, grab them!

How to make a Fun Dip Shot

I really enjoyed creating a boozy Fun Dip cocktail so thought it would be fun to create a shot too. I wasn’t wrong.

Scroll down to the printable recipe card for full measurements and instructions.

    Ingredients

    • Reposado tequila
    • Fun Dip Candy (I used Mango-Lime)
    • lemon, to help rim the shot glass with candy

I used Casamigos Reposado tequila. I love that brand. They are not outrageously expensive and it has a smoother flavor.

But you can easily use another type of tequila. I usually use silver or blanco in my cocktails.

    Instructions

Making a shot is so easy. Especially since a shot is usually just tequila followed up with a suck of a lime.

But a candy infused shot is almost as easy.

To add a Fun Dip rim

Adding the candy rim is another fun idea for serving a shot.

Even if you don’t mix the candy with the tequila, the candy rim will add another layer of flavor.

Pour a bit of the candy on to a small plate.

Rubbing a lemon on the rim of a shot glass.

To get the candy to stick to the shot glass, use a wedge of fresh lemon. Just slide it around the lip of the glass.

Then dip the shot glass into the candy. So simple. But it adds so much flavor.

To make the Fun Dip Shot

Add the Fun Dip candy to the shot glass.

Top it with tequila and stir.

    That’s it.

Bottle of tequila next to a shot glass rimmed with Mango Fun Dip and full of a bright orange shot.

The flavor is sweet and fruity. It’s such a fun way to make a shot.

Your friends will love this even if they aren’t regular shot takers.

A tequila Fun Dip Shot would be fun to serve at a 21st birthday party or an extra wild mom’s night out.

    Will you make this?!

You can also make a fun non-alcoholic Fun Dip Drink to share with the kids that is super sweet and bright pink!
