This super easy dessert idea is semi-homemade and has an amazing, fresh fruit flavor!

Make this Angel Food Cake with Peaches next time you want a light treat that tastes like summer.

Macerated fresh peaches get a little kick from fresh ginger and pairs perfectly with homemade whipped cream.

Sandwiched between fluffy angel food cake layers, this dessert looks impressive but couldn't be easier! It's one of my favorite easy dessert recipes!

    Angel Food Cake with Peaches

The weather is starting to warm up and I know we're all craving having people over again.

Although some of us may not be ready to entertain at home, there is a dessert that you should know about.

This simple Angel Food Cake with Gingered Peaches is sure to be your signature summer dessert.

It takes just a few ingredients, just minutes to put together and no baking required!

Store-bought angel food cake is so light and fluffy! It is the perfect base for juicy fresh fruit that have been macerated to create their own sugary syrup.

Did your mom ever make you this Strawberry, Jello Angel Food Cake dessert when you were little? It's one of my most popular recipes and another one you should make this season!

This peaches and cream angel food cake dessert is a show stopper. It looks fancy but is so easy! And it's such an amazing dessert to make during peach season.

How to make Angel Food Cake with Peaches and Cream

This angel food cake dessert is my favorite type. It's semi-homemade, where you get to control the flavor, but you aren't stuck in the kitchen for hours.

It can also be easily modified to suit your kitchen preferences (meaning you can totally bake the cake from scratch if you want - but why?)

You can find a printable recipe card, with full ingredients and instructions, further down in the post!

    Ingredients

    • fresh peaches
    • white sugar
    • fresh ginger
    • whipped cream
    • store-bought angel food cake

While I prefer to use store-bought angel food cake, to keep things stupid easy, you can make it from scratch or with a boxed mix if that's what you prefer.

And while I love fresh peaches, you can substitute canned or frozen with just a few simple modifications.

I made my own whipped cream, but you can certainly use store-bought!

    Instructions

The majority of this recipe is layering the ingredients. I'm a terrible cake decorator so this type of recipe is my favorite!

But first you need to make your sugared peaches!

    How to macerate peaches

Macerating sounds fancy but it's really just using sugar to get fresh fruit to create their own juice.

    1. Start by slicing your peaches. (I don't take off the skin because have you ever looked up that process? Too much work. Not doing it.)
    2. Add them to a food storage container with lid or a food storage bag.
    3. Add the sugar and grated ginger.
    4. Add the lid or close the bag and shake well.
    5. Leave at room temperature for at least half an hour.
    6. Then put in the fridge until ready to assemble.

A tiny piece of ginger ended up landing in my eye when I was grating it. Martha Stewart doesn't get ginger in her eye. Ouch.

How to assemble the Ginger Peach Angel Food Cake

    • Cut the angel food cake in half.
    • On the bottom layer of the angel food cake, use a spatula or the back of a spoon to spread the whipped cream.
    • Place ½ of the peaches on top of whipped cream, making sure to have them come all the way to edge so they can be seen.
    • Place the top cake layer back on.
    • Spread with more whipped cream.
    • Top with the remaining peaches and more whipped cream.

    Done. Super easy.

I added a cute little air plant to the center of the cake for a little extra pizzaz.

I laid the peaches in the same direction on the first layer and the opposite direction on the top layer. It's not necessary but I think that detail is what helps to make this look so cute.

This yummy ginger peach dessert tasted amazing, looked pretty and is true to who I am in the kitchen.

I love to encourage people to step outside their comfort zones and try new things. BUT, I also think its important to know your limits.

I have zero baking skills in the kitchen which is why I prefer to make dump cake recipes and cake mix desserts.

This easy Ginger Peach Angel Food Cake would be the perfect last-minute dessert for a get-together.

But if you don't have plans to entertain at home, it's just as great after a family dinner.
