A Refreshing St Germain Cocktail Recipe

This St Germain Wine Spritzer is super simple and so delicious.

The combination of the elderflower liqueur with white wine and club soda creates a light, sophisticated cocktail that's perfect for sipping on a warm day.

It's simple enough to make in just minutes! And you can serve this wine cocktail for any happy hour, party (like a bridal shower), or whenever the heck you want.

    Ingredients

Ingredients you'll need to make a St. Germain Spritzer, white wine, St. Germain and club soda.
What you'll need to make a white wine spritzer with St Germain.
    • St Germain Elderflower Liqueur
    • sauvignon blanc
    • club soda

You should be able to find all of these ingredients at your local grocery store or liquor store.

Here are my favorite sauvignon blancs from New Zealand that are under $20 and any of these would be perfect in this wine spritzer recipe.

You can also use other types of wine for this recipe if you don't have sauvignon blanc. While I would stay away from chardonnay because it is too bold for the elderflower liqueur, you can try using something like pinot grigio or something sweeter like riesling.

You can also try sparkling wine to make it a more traditional spritz (flavor, sparkling wine and club soda).

Also, you can make this with sparkling water instead of club soda. They are essentially the same thing.

See the printable recipe card for quantities and full recipe.

    Step 5

Garnish your white wine spritzer with St Germain with a sprig of rosemary.

    Variations

    • If you don't have St Germain, you can use another elderflower liqueur or even a simple syrup infused with elderflower.
    • To make it less boozy, use Belvoir Elderflower Cordial. It's non-alcoholic and has that great sweet, floral taste of St Germain.

    Top tips

    • Use a white wine that you enjoy the flavor of for this recipe, but you don't need to break the bank on a fancy bottle.
    • If you want a sweeter cocktail, add a splash of simple syrup.
    • If you want a stronger cocktail, add a shot of vodka or gin.
    • You can also add a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime for a little tartness.

    Frequently Asked Questions

St. Germain has a floral flavor with hints of citrus. It is sweet but not too sweet and has a light, refreshing taste.

Can I use a different wine in this recipe?

Yes, you can use any type of white wine that you like. You can also try prosecco or champagne. Both would be great in this recipe.

St Germain is an aperitif, which means it is meant to be consumed before a meal to help encourage your appetite.
