Our kids LOVE New Year's Eve! And they love these free printable New Year's Eve Photo Booth Props! They're a cool way to make fun memories on a family night in whether you're having a party or not!

This post was originally posted December 12, 2016 and has since been updated to include updated printables for 2022.

We like to stay in and make dinner on New Year's Eve. And while we love spending time together, sometimes laying around on the couch means you might very well fall asleep before midnight.

So even if we're not having a full on New Year's Eve party, we still like to serve yummy things and do fun activities.

New Years Eve Photo Booth Props

A party isn't a party unless there are photos, right? While it might just be a party of your immediate family this year, setting up a small photo booth area is always fun.

A photo booth encourages silliness. And it's a fun way to have visual memories to remember the night by.

Aside from doing our New Year's Eve Countdown Bags, I always look for ways to keep the kids engaged so they can stay up all night.

What I love about these free printable photo booth props is that they are easy to put together and are a great way to personalize party photos.

Originally I had my friend Jenny help me design these. But since they are now outdated, I had to figure out how to update them!

While I didn't have to modify some of them, the numbers on the printable are a little bit different than what is in the photos.

Just something to keep in mind.

Opt In form for a New Year's Eve Party Planner.

Photo booth props should be fun and let the people using them have tons of fun while taking pictures.

Two kids holding up funny mouth photo booth props in front of their faces.

The kids thought they were hysterical! The minute they walked in the house and saw these, they started claiming the ones they liked best.

It's hard to tell from the lighting in the photo but two of those teeth are metallic gold.

You can use these New Year's Eve props as printed or embellish them.

While we don't have a full-on New Year's Eve party, we do have a really fun night with the kids. (We usually enjoy a lowkey night in).

Whether we have extra friends over or it's just us, we love to set up a photo prop "bar" where the kids can decorate the photo props however they want to.

All you have to do is gather some craft supplies that you already have around the house and print out the printables.

    Supplies

Craft supplies on a table with bambo sticks for making photo props.

There is no need to go out and buy specific items to jazz these up. Chances are, you've got a bunch of things that you can use already at home. Here are the items you need and some that would be fun.

    • Photo booth prop files from the link below
    • Cardstock (to print the designs on)
    • Bamboo skewers
    • Scotch or masking tape
    • Scissors
    • Glue, glitter, foil paper, glitter glue, pom poms and other craft supplies to decorate the hats and mouths.

How to Make New Year's Photo Booth Props

Close up of craft supplies on a table.

Cut out the shapes from the printables.

Have the kids decorate them as they like.

Use tape to attach a stick to the back.

So easy. When they are completed, you can stick them in a tall vase full of rice or sugar or just lay them on a small table near the photo booth area.

Printed out paper photo booth props that say "2017" with sticks attached.

Yup. This post is from several years ago. I know it's not 2017. I've updated the numbers to represent 2022.

How funny is this mouth!? We added an easy yarn tassel to the fez and a little bit of glitter to the mouth.

But even without the customization, these DIY printable photo booth props are super fun.

Dude. I just used letter stickers to make this hat look like one he would actually wear.

If you are looking for an easy to way to dress up your wall so that the photos come out even cuter, this vintage ornament decoration would be simple to recreate as a backdrop.
