My perfect afternoon during the holidays includes wrapping presents whilst watching Christmas movies.
So I’ve rounded up the Holiday Movies on Netflix for 2020 that my family makes fun of me for loving.

I LOVE to buy presents for people. But then you have to wrap them.
It can be tedious especially when you start stressing about all the other things you have to do. Watching a movie helps to make it feel less like a chore and put me in the holiday spirit.
Holiday movies make wrapping more fun
These holiday movies are not the usual family favorites (trust me, Netflix has those too). These movies include made-for Netflix productions that you can’t find anywhere else.
Some are very reminiscent of the Hallmark Christmas movies. My fave. These Hallmark-esque movies are perfect for an afternoon or evening of wrapping presents.
If holiday comedies are more your speed, Netflix has those too. Because it’s Netflix, they can push the envelope a bit. Like, Holidate. Don’t watch around the kids. (But DO watch it!)
And there’s plenty of stuff for the kids too!
Grab a wine spritzer, turn on a holiday movie, spread out all your wrapping stuff and get to work!
We always end up with SO many gifts to wrap every year. A Netflix marathon can absolutely make it more fun and keep things from being overwhelming.
It makes laundry more fun, you KNOW it will help to get through all the wrapping!
Tips for making wrapping less stressful
I usually try to wrap some of the presents while the kids are in school but I also try to add in an evening of wrapping. Set boundaries with the rest of the family and then get it done.
Every year my mom takes the boys for a sleepover and they decorate gingerbread cookies. This allows my husband and I to finish up the wrapping. Consider asking a family member to do the same for you!
Gather all your supplies for wrapping presents and then keep them together so you can easily grab everything when you need it. I wrap presents in my bedroom when everyone is home, but the living room when they’re gone.
A small basket keeps scissors, tape, pens and gift tags right where I need them.
I’ve learned to make gift-wrapping feel less like a chore and more like me-time, which we could all use a little more of around the holidays.
Don’t wait until the last minute to wrap everything. Try to spread it out and do it in smaller batches. You can get a lot wrapped in the time it takes to watch one movie!
And, of course, enlist help! I usually have my kids wrap their cousins presents. And I can get them to wrap the gifts for my husband too. It’s a good skill for them to know and it takes all the work off your shoulders.
Just know, these are not going to be the prettiest packages under the tree…
And while this list of holiday movies on Netflix is deemed unacceptable when my husband is helping, it is PERFECT for my solo wrapping sessions.
What do you do to make wrapping presents more fun? (Besides wine?) What are your favorite holiday movies?
