Netflix Christmas Movies (and Shows) for 2021

THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. SEE THE PRIVACY POLICY LINKED IN MY FOOTER.

My perfect afternoon during the holidays includes wrapping presents whilst watching Christmas movies. It’s efficient and joyful and a more stress-free way to tackle a holiday chore.

So I’ve rounded up the Netflix Christmas Movies for 2021 that my family makes fun of me for loving. Because I know you love them too.

This post was originally published years ago but I update it each year to share the newest holiday movies and TV shows.

I LOVE to buy presents for people. But then you have to wrap them. Wonk.

It can be tedious especially when you start stressing about all the other things you have to do. Watching a holiday movie helps to make it feel less like a chore and puts me in the holiday spirit.

Why Netflix

Netflix is so easy to use and I love that you can watch everything on demand. Whether you’re in the mood for a specific movie or want to browse, it’s always easy to find something to watch.

These Netflix Christmas movies for 2021 are not the usual family favorites (trust me, Netflix has those too). These movies include made-for Netflix original productions that you can’t find anywhere else.

Some are very reminiscent of the Hallmark Christmas movies. My fave. These Hallmark-esque movies are perfect for an afternoon or evening of wrapping presents.

If holiday comedies are more your speed, Netflix has those too. Because it’s Netflix, they can push the envelope a bit. Like, Holidate. Don’t watch around the kids. (But DO watch it!)

And there’s plenty of stuff for the kids too!

Grab a wine spritzer, turn on a Netflix Christmas movie, spread out all your wrapping stuff and get to work!

We always end up with SO many gifts to wrap every year. A Netflix marathon can absolutely make it more fun and keep things from being overwhelming.

It makes laundry more fun, you KNOW it will help to get through all the wrapping!

I’ve learned to work holiday movies into my long to-do list feel less and feel more like me-time, which we could all use a little more of around the holidays.

And you can get a lot wrapped in the time it takes to watch one movie!

And while this list of holiday movies on Netflix is deemed unacceptable when my husband is helping, it is PERFECT for my solo wrapping sessions.

Christmas Movies on Netflix for 2021

2021 list of Netflix movies and shows for Christmas.

November

November 1 The Claus Family | Jules must save Christmas. Thank goodness his family has a secret holiday legacy…

November 5 Love Hard | This holiday rom-com takes on the digital dating world with a fun and festive catfish situation. I’m guessing it all works out.

November 7 Father Christmas Is Back | 4 sisters, currently in a feud, must come together when their absent father suddenly shows back up. Sounds like a holiday miracle to me.

November 18 The Princess Switch 3: Romancing the Star | Vanessa Hudgens plays 3 roles in this Christmas movie which opens up even more opportunities for a love story. This one also has a minor crime to solve.

November 25 A Boy Called Christmas | The journey of an ordinary boy who sets out on an extraordinary adventure. He’s joined by a trusty reindeer in search of his father.

November 26 A Castle for Christmas | With Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes, I’m really looking forward to this one. Brooke’s character wants to buy a castle but the stubborn real estate agent won’t sell to a foreigner.

December

December 2 Single All the Way | First, since Jingle All the Way is my all-time favorite Christmas movie, the title grabbed me immediately. Full of a fun cast of characters (including Kathy Najimi and Jennifer Coolidge), it’s the age-old tale of getting through a family holiday gathering with a fake boyfriend.

December 6 David and the Elves | David’s parents have forgotten the meaning of Christmas. David and an escaped Elf head towards his grandparent’s house in search of what the season is all about. David’s parents and Santa follow…

December 16 A California Christmas: City Lights | Will love win out over family drama and business obligations?

December 22 Grumpy Christmas | This is a sequel to a movie from 2016. A family heads to the beach to stay with an aunt and holiday family drama ensues. This is a comedy where the patriarch will stop at nothing to prove a point.

December 24 1000 Miles From Christmas | Everything bad that has ever happened to Raul happened at Christmas times so he usually runs off to hid from the holidays at the beach. But his boss sends him on a business trip to the most Christmas town ever.

December TBA A Naija Christmas | 3 Sons race to be the first to find a wife and make their mom happy at Christmas.

Netflix Original Christmas Show and Series

November

November 17 Christmas Flow | A Christmas romance between a rapper and a journalist.

November 19 Blown Away: Christmas | If you’re a fan of this glass blowing series, you’ll love this holiday take!

November 26 School of Chocolate | 8 top pastry chefs and chocolatiers compete for a life-changing prize.

November 28 Elves | Sharing the official blurb since I can’t make heads or tails of what this show is about: “Hoping to reconnect over Christmas, a family of four travel to a remote island in the Danish archipelago, only to find it controlled by members of a strongly religious community living in balance with fierce creatures in the woods revealed to be… elves. Real, monstrous beings that inspired the folklore and myths we all know. When the girl in the family finds and brings home a baby elf, she inadvertently disrupts the balance and throws everyone on the island into a life-or-death battle for faith, family and pure survival.”

December

December 3 The Great British Baking Show: Holidays | You get what this one is, right?

November 23 Waffles + Mochi’s Holiday Feast | Waffles and Mochi learn that holiday traditions are about much for than food but are about making memories with the ones you love.

  1. Thanks Sharon. In a silly mood, I asked Google, “What should I watch while wrapping this mountain of gifts? And you asked the same question! And answered it too. Silly movies all, but perfect for cutting and folding and taping. Tomorrow is ribbons; what should we watch?
