How to Make Sheet Pan Nachos for a Quick Dinner

    Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Albertsons. All opinions are 100% mine.

These quick and easy Sheet Pan Nachos are a super convenient dinner recipe for your family.

Crispy tortilla chips are topped with a variety of cheeses and spicy ground beef to create a delicious weeknight meal idea.

Loaded nachos have all your favorite taco night flavors but require less hands-on time.

It’s a perfect stress-free dinner solution for your busy back to school season.

Sheet Pan Nachos are a family fave

Sheet Pan Nachos are something my family enjoys a lot. But I always thought it was such a basic recipe that people didn’t need instruction.

Earlier this week, my best friend called me and asked for all my nacho making tips.

If you saw my Ice Cream Nachos post, you know that I am a big nachos fan.

So I decided to share how I make them crispy and delicious. All nachos are delicious, but some are extraordinary (and still super easy!)

    Are nachos an entree

YES! Nachos, while being an awesome hearty appetizer for tailgating and game day parties, also makes a great entree.

Nachos, especially when made on a sheet pan, is a great entree on a busy weeknight.

My mom superpower is making things extra easy in the kitchen. Take this Swiss Enchilada Casserole for example.

Sure, you could roll up each enchilada individually, but it is so much quicker to make it as a casserole.

Nachos take all your favorite taco fillings and layer them on tortilla chips. You don’t need to fill any shells but you get that same crunch.

Depending on the size and appetite of your family, you can serve just Sheet Pan Nachos (or even load them up with even more filling toppings).

Or you can serve the nachos with a few sides.

    Plan your grocery list

Back to school season is always a super busy time of year.

And without knowing exactly what starting school will look like this time around, easy meals are what we need!

Plus, having plenty of snacks on hand and lunch items ready to go is even more important right now.

My local Albertsons store has tons of convenient back to school solutions.

The O Organics® line is exclusive to Albertsons stores and is made up of more than 1500 products.

From easily packable lunchbox options, weekday dinner helpers and snacks that your kids love, Albertsons is the place to shop.

    How to make nachos

Nachos are such a versatile idea. We typically make ours with Mexican flavors with seasoned ground beef and taco toppings.

But you can easily turn your favorite meals into Sheet Pan Nachos. Next time I’m going to try a BBQ Chicken style recipe.

    Ingredients

    • O Organics Blue Corn Tortilla Chips
    • O Organics 85% Lean Ground Beef 15% Fat, Grass Fed (seasoned with taco seasoning)
    • O Organics Mexican Shredded Cheese
    • Shredded Lettuce
    • Roma Tomatoes
    • Cilantro
    • Sour Cream
    • Lime
    • Other toppings: salsa, guacamole, jalapenos, black beans

I’m also serving O Organics Quinoa & Brown Rice with Garlic 90 Seconds microwavable side dish.

It’s so quick and easy to prepare and can be made in the same amount of time that it takes for the nachos to heat through!

This recipe uses ingredients that my family loves. But you can easily tailor this easy dinner idea to your family’s tastes.

O Organics products are high quality at a great value. They are USDA-certified organic and offer tons of back to school essentials.

From grass-fed beef to the organic snacks, their variety of products ensures that I feel good about what I’m feeding my family.

Boy cooking ground taco meat on the stove top.

I love that my oldest son is now old enough to help me make certain dinners. With his help, I got this meal on the table in about 15 minutes.

    Instructions

Add O Organics Grass Fed Ground Beef to a skillet and add taco seasoning. Cook, breaking up meat until no longer pink and cooked through.

Drain on a plate with a few paper towels.

In the meantime, lay out a sheet pan and add a layer of O Organics Blue Corn Tortilla Chips.

Boy putting cheese on top of nachos.

Add a layer of O Organics Mexican Style Blend Shredded cheese (includes Monterey Jack, Colby Jack and Cheddar cheeses).

It’s super flavorful and the fine shred ensures even melting.

Chips and cheese with ground beef on top on a cookie sheet on a counter.

Add the seasoned ground beef to the chips and cheese on a sheet pan.

How do you make nachos not soggy

There are a few ways to make nachos at home. My preferred method is to use the broiler.

Turn the broiler on high and allow to heat for about 2 minutes.

Carefully put your sheet pan in the broiler. Watch carefully as the cheese will melt quickly.

Typically, one end will melt quicker than the other end so I turn the cookie sheet around half way through cooking.

The total cooking time is about 2-3 minutes.

The broiler helps to keep the chips crispy. Just make sure they don’t burn.

You can make them in the oven if you prefer. If you do, you will want to bake just the tray of chips for about 5 minutes first.

This helps the chips to stay crispy when all the other toppings are put on.

After you add the toppings, bake them another 5 – 10 minutes until the cheese is melted completely.

Delicious nachos with blue corn tortilla chips and ground taco meat.

With the cheese melted and the chips crisp, you’re ready to add cold or fresh toppings.

I added shredded lettuce (which I bought pre-shredded to save time), tomatoes, sour cream and cilantro.

I love the crunch that the lettuce gives. And the fresh cilantro is always a great way to add extra flavor.

You can even put different toppings on specific parts of the sheet pan to suit specific family members.

Boy putting a microwavable brown rice and quinoa side dish into the microwave.

While the nachos were in the broiler we made this quick Quinoa and Brown Rice side dish. It only took 90 seconds and was a great accompaniment.

    Doesn’t that look so tasty?

Boy using spatula to take a serving of loaded nachos.

A sheet pan of nachos is plenty to serve my family of 4. Especially with a side dish.

You can even make the ground beef ahead of time making this even easier to put together for dinner.

This is also a dish I can have my son make for us if I have a late meeting that keeps me away during prime dinner making time. It’s that easy.

O Organics Apple Juice pairs perfectly with these yummy nachos. This is a dinner the whole family loves!

I shopped at my local Albertsons store but you can also find O Organics products exclusively at the Albertsons Companies family of stores, including Albertsons, Safeway, ACME Markets, Jewel-Osco, Vons, Randalls, Shaw’s Supermarket, Star Market and Tom Thumb.

Albertsons offers Grocery Delivery and Drive Up & Go™ for a convenient way to shop. These are great options for busy moms.
