Smirnoff Sorbet Light Cocktails for Memorial Day and Beyond

May 22, 2013 By Sharon Garofalow 16 Comments

I love celebrating Memorial Day! It’s the perfect time to host a casual get together and kick off the start of summer parties. These Smirnoff Sorbet Light Cocktails are sure to please your party guests! So grab some steaks, invite some friends and family and get to mixing! These lightened-up cocktails are just what your “summer bod” needs.

Smirnoff Sorbet Light cocktail ideas for memorial day and summer barbecues

This is a sponsored post by Smirnoff Sorbet Light.  All reviews/opinions expressed in this post are unbiased and based on my personal view. And yes I did want my title to sound like Buzz Lightyear was saying it. Updated May, 2019.

When the weather warms up, I like to try to find a new “go-to” drink. Since this summer I will be vacationing where temperatures reach well over 100 degrees (which means I will be forced to wear a swimsuit), I want something that is delicious and refreshing but without a ton of calories or sugars.

Smirnoff sent me their new line of infused vodkas, Smirnoff Sorbet Light, to try and they are exactly what I was looking for. They have only 78 calories per 1.5 ounce serving which makes them light so I don’t feel super guilty about having a cocktail.

The best part is they taste natural and do not have any sort of diet-y aftertaste.

Smirnoff Sorbet Light Flavors

The Smirnoff Sorbet Light Vodkas come in three, perfect for summer flavors, Lemon, Raspberry Pomegranate and Mango Passion Fruit. Perfect for making light cocktails that feature citrus or fruit flavors.

The flavors are classic and can be mixed with just an ingredient or two to create fun to drink cocktails.

Smirnoff Sorbet Light lemon Tea Cocktail Recipe on a wooden trayI’m an iced tea lover so this black tea based cocktail with Smirnoff Sorbet Light Lemon had to be tried.

Smirnoff Sorbet Light Lemon Tea

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Lemon Smirnoff Sorbet Light
  • 3 oz Unsweetened Black Tea (I love to use Teajava!)
  • .5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • .25 oz Agave Nectar

Steps:

  1. Mix well and serve over ice.

So easy. And YUM! Plus it’s crazy refreshing. I love that it isn’t overly sweet and I still get my daily iced tea fix! Lemon and tea pair so well, don’t they?

summer cocktails pink and orangePassion fruit is one of my favorite flavors ever so I really enjoyed the Mango Passion Fizz using Smirnoff Sorbet Light Mango Passion Fruit. Mango and Passion Fruit bring some light tropical vibes while the club soda keeps it bubbly and bright.

  • 1.5 oz Mango Passion Fruit Smirnoff Sorbet Light
  • .75 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • .5 oz Agave Nectar
  • 2 oz Club Soda

Steps:

  1. Shake up first 3 ingredients and top with Club Soda.

These Smirnoff Sorbet Light recipes couldn’t be easier, right?

But the big winner was the Raspberry Lemon Punch with Smirnoff Sorbet Light Raspberry Pomegranate. Total crowd pleaser. The muddled fresh raspberries gave it another layer of flavor and the lemonade kept this familiar but with a twist.

Smirnoff Sorbet Light Raspberry Lemon Punch

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz Raspberry Pomegranate Smirnoff Sorbet Light
  • 4 oz Lemonade
  • 4 raspberries muddled

Steps:

  1. Muddle 4 raspberries in a glass and add cold lemonade and Smirnoff Sorbet Light.

I mean…so easy. Your Memorial Day guests will love these!

Your pictures are amazing! I love the color combinations. Since we had the baby, we don’t get out much but we have been inviting friends over here. I think I have an idea for our next bbq because of this post! Thank you!
