Quick Beauty Hacks You Need to Know About

I think, after my last birthday, I am now considered ancient. And while I don’t really feel old, my face is showing the signs. My eyes are taking the brunt of it. I don’t know if it is wrinkles, or if I am not sleeping but something is going on and I look tired all the time.

To top it off, my dark under-eye circles are at an all-time high. One of my favorite eye products is Ooh La Lift from Benefit. It’s this shimmery cream that helps to reflect light making your eyes appear brighter and a little more rested. I usually reserve this for when I am going out at night or to an event and don’t want to pile on more concealer.

It’s also my go-to in the morning, after a night of too much wine. It’s not a total miracle worker, but it does help and I love it!
Want to refresh your hair for summer without making an appointment? Good old Sun In to the rescue! I’m a total California blond. Luckily, my natural hair color is still really light and my highlights grow out nicely. It helps me to stretch the time in between salon visits which is awesome. Did you know they still make Sun In?! I had this in high school, although I really didn’t need it then since I was spending a ton of time at the beach.

All I know is when my hair starts to fade around my face, I feel real dowdy. A few applications of this brings a bit of the brightness back without having to spend hours in a salon chair. And it’s like $3. It’s probably terrible for your hair so make sure to deep condition too. Do you use body wash this way? Sharing my 5 favorite beauty hacks! Recently I got to do an ambassadorship with Aveeno and ended up with a ton of product. I’m a bath bar type of gal so I wasn’t sure what to do with the body wash. I had my kids use some and then I read on the bottle that you can use it as shave gel.

So I put it in the shower and have been using it to shave my legs. It’s amazing! My legs used to get really dried out after using a shave gel. But this leaves them silky and not dry. And I love this scent!

Image by Dez and Tam PhotographyNail decals are my favorite thing to do to get ready for a trip. They aren't as harsh as gel nails and they come in great colors! It's like you've gotten great nail art without the hassle of going to a nail salon! I adore these nail decals! I’m pretty low maintenance in the nail department so I tend to leave them unpolished. But when I travel, I like to have them look painted. I used to go with gel nails but I hated how they wrecked my nails after I take them off.

Instead, I tried using these nail decals and they are awesome. They are crazy easy to put on and there is NO dry time which is my favorite part. They are about $8, which is what you would pay if you were to go to the salon for a polish change.

I usually put these on the night before I leave on a trip (it takes about 5-10 minutes) and they stay perfect for at least a long weekend and sometimes longer. Even when they start to “chip” it’s not as noticeable as with polish. I always have these on hand. You'll never guess how I use a toilet seat cover in my on-the-go beauty routine? See all 5 of my favorite beauty hacks by clicking through!Yup. Let’s talk about toilet seat covers. I don’t remember where I learned this trick, but if you tend to get shiny like I do, you can use a toilet seat cover to absorb the excess oil from your t-zone. Just pat your face with the cover (clean, of course – don’t be gross), moving to a new part of the cover for each area.

If you think about those oil absorption sheets you can buy, toilet seat covers feel pretty close to that material, minus the side with powder. This works great if you want to apply a little more powder but don’t want to get your powder sponge all funked up from the built up oil.

Did you know you could use a toilet seat cover for that? Let me know if you use any of these 5 quick beauty hacks. What beauty hacks do you love?
