Triscuit Appetizer with Blue Cheese and Flank Steak
These delicious Triscuit appetizers are so easy to make and a great appetizer idea for your next girl's night. Blue cheese and Flank steak pair perfectly with sweet grilled onions and a balsamic drizzle.
Use garlic salt and pepper to season the flank steak.
Or use your favorite flank steak seasoning.
Grill flank steak to your desired doneness.
At the same time, grill your sliced red onions until they are charred and soft, about 10 minutes.
Let steak rest and when it is cool enough to handle, slice thinly, across the grain.
Chop grilled onions.
For each steak bite, layer a piece of steak, grilled onion, and blue cheese on top of a TRISCUIT.
Drizzle with a little bit of balsamic vinegar.
Top with fresh thyme.
Notes
*The amount this makes depends on how many you want to make. With a 2 pound flank steak, you could probably use the whole box of TRISCUIT crackers and still have meat leftover (which is never a bad thing!) This is why I put 1-2 red onions. I used 1 red onion and had enough to make probably 24 steak bites.
Since you can tailor each Triscuit appetizer to your liking, you can leave off any ingredient that you friends and family may not like.
You can make this vegetarian by leaving off the meat and adding a drizzle of honey and some toasted pistachios.
Since you will have a whole box of crackers and cook a few pounds of meat, you can make a lot of these. If serving at a party, I would make up to 24, then store the ingredients so you can make more as needed.
