Apple Juice Braised Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

  • 6 Slices bacon coarsely chopped
  • 2 cups Brussels Sprouts halved
  • 1/4 cup apple juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • pepper, to taste


  1. In a large skillet cook bacon until crisp, approximately 5 minutes.
  2. Remove bacon to paper towels to drain but reserve a TBSP of bacon grease in the pan.
  3. Add brussels sprouts and saute for a few minutes, to get a little color on them.
  4. Stir in apple juice.
  5. Cover and bring to a boil over high heat.
  6. Reduce heat and simmer 10 - 12 minutes until tender.
  7. Let the apple juice cook almost all the way off.
  8. Add bacon, salt and pepper.
  9. Serve Immediately.
