Instructions
Place popped popcorn in a large disposable pan.
Melt white chocolate in a microwave-safe dish as per instructions on the package.
If no specific instructions are given, start with 30 seconds, then stir. Continue cooking with 15-second intervals, stirring between each.
Stop when there are still a few visible chocolate chunks. Stir until the chunks have melted.
Add the dry cake mix and mix until incorporated. It will change the consistency of the chocolate for a minute but keep mixing and it will blend in.
If using food coloring, add it now and stir to combine.
Pour the white chocolate and dry cake mixture over the popcorn.
Stir gently to evenly coat the popcorn.
Spread the popcorn out on the wax paper-lined baking sheets. Top with sprinkles, chocolate chips or holiday candy.
Press the add-ins into the sticky white chocolate popcorn with your hands.
Let cool completely, then break the coated popcorn into smaller chunks.
Store in an air-tight container. The coated popcorn should last for about 5 days.
