All opinions are mine alone. #SnuggleUpMoments #CollectiveBiasYou know how when you were little, you had that one blanket that you dragged around the house with you? It was your comfort, your constant companion? My kids both still have blankets that come out of bed with them in the morning and goes back to bed with them each night. And I’m not ashamed to say it, my husband and I have blankets also. Ours only leave the bedroom to come out on the couch with us, during winter evenings, otherwise they are firmly stationed on our respective sides of the beds. Each of these blankets was lovingly made by hand by my husband’s grandmother and they are our most prized possessions. In this day and age of “busy,” these blankets help us to slow down and create family Snuggle® up moments.
We have probably 400 pictures where you can see all or part of the kid’s blankets. I pretty much consider them to be family members at this point. I found these old photos of the kids and their blankets and had to share. We have rules for these blankets. They don’t leave the house (unless under extreme circumstances), I let them wake up with their blankets in front of the TV but then they must return them to their beds before school. And if they ever forget their blanket at grandma’s house after a sleepover, we do not go get it, they must use an alternate blanket (we have at least 4 other blankets from grandma around the house) until we can retrieve the original. As you can tell, the blankets are very loved. We’ve got grandma on retainer for repairs. And as you can imagine, these blankets get pretty dirty from all the use they get. There are times when I can smell the blankets before I see them. Because little boys are gross (I’m speaking mainly for mine, so I’m allowed to say that). But I’ve found a way to care for the blankets that are so dear to us, and help them to smell amazing so I don’t mind being near them. Although I usually look for the shortest steps possible when doing chores, adding laundry conditioner is a must! On a trip to Sam’s Club, I picked up Snuggle® Ultra Blue Sparkle® fabric conditioner which makes these blankets, and the rest of my laundry, feel even softer to the touch. And the blue iris bliss® Snuggle Scent Boosters® come in easy to use single packs and leave a long-lasting scent! AMEN! Be sure to follow the directions on the back of each package, but they really are so simple to use that it has become part of my normal laundry routine. Now I look for those moments when I feel like we are moving too fast and suggest we snuggle up on the couch together. It is the perfect way to destress as a family. I layer blue iris bliss® Snuggle Scent Boosters® with the Ultra Blue Sparkle® fabric conditioner for the ultimate softness and scent. Because although I can try to prepare for upcoming snuggle times, (a Friday night is always a great time for family snuggling), I can’t predict when the kids will need a little bit of extra snuggles. Recently both of my kids have started to get headaches. When they happen, I always try to find a Snuggle® up moment on the couch and try to get them to close their eyes. Having the blankets smell fresh, and not like feet, really makes this mom moment feel good. It let’s me relax with the kids, knowing their special blankets are as soft as can be and that they are feeling comforted.
