OMG! You can buy bathing suits on Amazon! Did you ever think to do that? Which means, you can try on your swimsuit in your own home, no harsh overhead lights or crying in the dressing rooms (oh, that’s just me?). You know I love a good one piece bathing suit but they also have bikinis. Best of all, there are tons of great designs to choose from and a lot of them come with free returns! It’s genius! This is one of the ways my site is monetized so that I can continue to create great content for you.
I’m all about Amazon Prime, y’all. It truly makes life so much easier for moms. It wasn’t around when my kids were really little but I certainly would have bought ery’thing from there if it had been. Just this week, I’ve bought flip-flops to replace the ones that broke on our last day of vacation (Californians LIVE in their flip-flops – that was a hard couple of days!). I found my FAVORITE bra (from this bra post) that is no longer available at Target – but I found it on Amazon and bought 3!) I bought replacement water filters for my refrigerator. I bought a box of 12 thin black Expo markers for back to school because the stores are always out and they are always on our supplies list. And I didn’t have to leave the house to buy these things. Or pay for shipping. But back to bathing suits. I have an Ella Moss suit that I LOVE! But I didn’t want to spend $100 on a new suit for this summer. While there are some expensive suits on Amazon, they also have some totally reasonable ones. I’m talking $20.
Things you should know when buying a bathing suit on Amazon
• Some of the designs may be knock offs. I don’t do enough bathing suit shopping to know for sure but I have a feeling (given the cute designs at cheap prices)
• The suits run REALLY small. Which is why free returns is key. Definitely read the reviews of the suits and size up.
• Not all of the suits have free returns so pay extra attention.
• The quality may or may not be amazing. Just saying. But you are saving a TON of money and if it falls apart…
I have not been feeling bathing suit ready this summer. Two piece suits are off the table. This cute one piece has a high neck, which I’ve never had on a suit before, and two cut outs on the sides which is actually slimming…as long as you are standing up. Sitting down leads to a whole host of problems with excess chub. It’s nothing a cute kimono can’t fix. How to return your unwanted bathing suits to Amazon
I ended up trying on about 6 bathing suits before finding the one that I wanted to keep (the one pictured). Returning the ones that didn’t work was super easy. I tried to save the plastic packaging that they came in if it had any kind of bar code on it. Then you just go on to your Amazon account and click on the “orders” area. Find the item, click “return,” and give them your reason why. They will create a shipping label for you that all you have to do is print out and attach to your shipping envelope. I just picked up an inexpensive padded envelope from Target to send them back in. I guess you are out a few dollars on the envelopes but shopping this way was so easy considering the boys are home from school and ain’t no way I wanna take them bathing suit shopping with me!
You can send back multiple orders at the same time to save on the cost of envelopes if you are smart. And the cool thing is, the minute the bar code is scanned at the UPS store, your account is credited. You are definitely not sitting around and waiting for weeks for your money.
I feel like buying bathing suits on Amazon has opened up a whole new world for me. Just think of all the clothes I can buy without leaving my house and with free shipping!
