A while back I mentioned that I had to throw a bachelorette party for a friend of mine, Lisa. You may remember that I also helped with the shower (along with the bride’s fabulous sister, Kelly – who pleasantly surprised me with her party planning skills!!). After using Paper and Cake for the shower (see shower post here, I haven’t gotten around to posting it on here yet…) I knew
Happy Monday readers!!! I hope you all had a great weekend. My husband and I got our first date night in soooooo long!!! We had a great dinner at Mastro’s and saw an awesome band, Dinosaur Jr., play. But I am much to old to stay out so late and wouldn’t you know, I’ll be trying to make up that lost sleep the rest of this week. Which is crazy
T and I made the most amazing discovery recently. It was quite by accident. Two weeks ago, her 6 month old son, Jack, became very ill and was admitted to the hospital. Turns out he had/has Kawasaki’s disease (totally not sure if that is how you spell it but I am too tired/lazy to look it up). After 4 nights in the hospital, he is back at home with some
Where the heck have we been? I have no good excuse. Busy. That’s gonna have to do. And right now, I was not even planning on posting. Next weekend is the big shindig. A double birthday party for my friend’s 5 year old boy, E, and 2 year old darling little girl, K. But, K’s actual birthday fell on this past Saturday. T wanted to do something small for her since all of the other extended family members were busy so I volunteered to put together a little party for her and a few of the neighbor

Shim + Sons was/is a small design shop that creates simple, crazy pretty paper goods, etc. They have closed the shoppe for now,
I aspire to make beautiful cakes. In my head I see myself baking the most tasty, moist layer cakes that are tiered and iced in a simple, yet elegant manner. Maybe some sugar flowers, maybe some ribbon. In my head they are always exquisite and take about 5 minutes. In reality, I am not a natural baker. What I mean by “natural” is that I have no baking common sense.
My friend T’s mom has her funeral all figured out. Okay, maybe not down to how the program will look, but I’m pretty sure she has all music and floral arrangements decided on. Did this alarm me when I first heard about her plans? Not at all. I thought – what a smart idea and a great way to work in another fabulous party for your loved ones. T and
