My husband’s family is fairly large. We were counting and I think that we’re up to 13 nieces and nephews just on his side alone. Its a little crazy. When everyone gets together for family gatherings it can be a little overwhelming, but I love to watch all the kids run around together. Unfortunately for me, having that many nieces and nephews also means having that many birthdays to remember.
I’ve been putting off this post. It could go on for days really. I love this website. Its just that there are so many amazing products. How do I edit what to talk about? I don’t know where to start so I am going to jump right in. I used For Your Party to buy custom printed napkins for my son’s first birthday and my 30th birthday which we celebrated
This one’s for all the non-bakers in the house….which would include me, I guess. Its weird really. I actually love to cook, and you’d think with all the experimenting in the kitchen I have done over the years I would have worked up a mean baking repetoire. You’d think. But apparently the baking gene skipped me completely because I’m often lucky if I can get the preformed frozen cookie dough
So I’ve got a little confession to make…I’m a wrapaholic. I don’t know what it is. Maybe its the creative outlet, the endless possibilities, the blank canvas if you will, of a gift that needs wrapping. I’m not quite sure I’ve got it figured out. But I do know that it shouldn’t take as long to wrap a gift as it does to pick it out in the first place.
Okay, here is the follow up to my previous post about dressing up a cake. My son is busy watching the “Smurts” (Smurfs) so I have a few minutes. I’ll type fast. I first heard about the company, Fancy Flours, through a Martha Stewart vehicle. It may have been a wedding magazine, it may have been Darcy Miller’s blog, I really can’t remember. I just know it is a Martha
It’s genius. Pure genius. I am not sure why I haven’t thought to do this. It’s brilliant. And free. My girl T is super creative and goes all out for any party she throws (just take her husband’s 40th birthday party with custom lights, an amazing caterer, dj, and burlesque dancer – especially when she threw her glove on to a heater and it started to catch fire. Talk about
Lately, my husband and I have been having some sort of unspoken contest to see who can get the least amount of sleep. Usually with his early am shifts and staying up late because of the whole wanting to see his kids thing, he trumps me no problem. But today I just might have him beat. I’m working off of a good four hours right now and based on the
Rainbow birthday candles are the coolest! I’m not a baker. I’m not a cake decorator. In fact, I finally found the chance to use my offset spatula for the first time with I iced a cake for my son’s 2nd birthday party earlier this month. My sister had given me a cake decorating set, complete with all kinds of fancy icing tips, for my first Christmas as a married woman.
