Listen. Easter is tomorrow and while I don’t usually post on Saturday I wanted to share this last-minute idea with you for cooking the eggs you probably haven’t decorated yet! If you are lazy like me, and HATE to hard boil eggs, this post is for you! I just tried baking eggs in the oven and I think it’s genius!
Earlier today I realized that Easter is this Sunday! And with all the birthday celebrating we are doing this weekend, I realized that we had to decorate our Easter eggs on Friday night! So I grabbed some eggs from the store and resigned myself to making hard-boiled eggs the traditional way. But I hate that method! I mean, it’s really just boiling water, but I have a mental block against it. Then I remembered that I read somewhere that you can bake the eggs in the oven! So I had to give that a try. You may notice that this post is way more simple than usual. This is shot all with my iPhone and I literally wanted to get this post up to try to help you out! So pin this post for next year then read on to see how easy this method is!
Grab your eggs. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Put one egg in each space in a muffin tin. Bake for 30 minutes. Watch the video I created from my Instagram story over on my Facebook page to see the whole process including the little hiccup I encountered… For some reason I ignored the fact that my oven runs hot and put them in for the full 30 minutes (I usually put the Trader Joe’s chocolate croissants in for 10 minutes instead of the suggested 20 so this was a big fail on my part). That’s why there are some dark spots on the eggs I think. The spots were mostly where the eggs touched the muffin tin. To stop the cooking process just plunge the eggs in to an ice water bath for a few minutes. It was SO easy. I think this is my new favorite method! We usually only decorate the eggs and not eat them but this one tasted great even for being a little bit over cooked! Have you ever cooked eggs this way before?? Let me know if you try this method!
