With graduations being a little wonky this year, there’s no set time to celebrate! One way you can celebrate someone is by sending announcement cards!
Whether you plan to host a party later this summer or host something virtually, graduation announcement cards are a great way to spread the exciting news to friends and family.
My son has finished 8th grade and is starting high school in the fall. While that’s not usually a huge deal around here, this year feels like his promotion to high school deserves a little fanfare since he won’t be having any kind of ceremony.
Graduation announcements are easy to send and a great way to stay connected with friends and family.

Modern graduation announcement cards
I remember my senior graduation announcements, they were super stuffy and formal. What I love about these is that they feel fresh and modern.
These could easily be kept on the fridge forever and look timeless.
This year it will be hard to find ways to celebrate the graduates. But a gorgeous custom announcement is something that makes me very excited.
It’s something that can be handled easily at home and would be a fun surprise for your graduate!
Planning with Basic Invite custom samples
Basic Invite had me make some samples so I could see just how easy it was to use their services and feel the quality of their materials. After struggling with what info to use on the samples, I went back to an event that I always reminisce over this time of year.
DONNA MARTIN GRADUATES!
A few friends were over the day I took these photos and they had NO idea who Donna Martin was. Which prompted the biggest eye roll from me ever. Kids these days! (It’s from Beverly Hills 90210, duh.)
I loved this modern design (which also comes in pink tones). It reminds me of the ocean and it felt perfect for a high school or college graduation. What I loved about using one of their pre-made designs is that the fonts are already chosen for you.
I always have such a hard time pairing fonts! This was designed by someone, who clearly knows what they are doing, and you just have to update the information. It’s so easy.
When I try to create an invitation or announcement, I get super frustrated. I never know how to layout the information and images. The designs that Basic Invite has to choose from for graduation announcement cards and senior stationery are simple but interesting.
All I had to do was add a photo and it was done! No, my son’s name is not Jake. But it felt odd creating an announcement for him. It felt equally odd using someone else’s photo…
If you have a senior, you may have had a senior portrait session done. Basic Invite has both photo cards and plain announcements to choose from. There really is something for everyone.
If you weren’t able to get to the photoshoot, now is the perfect time to schedule a porch shoot with your favorite photographer or grab your own camera and take some images.
The photoshoot is another way to commemorate this exciting time!
I love that you can get a custom sample of your design sent to your house before placing your final order. It’s a great way to really see the quality of how it is printed and the feel of the paper.
It’s such a bummer to take the time to design a card only to have them arrive and be disappointed with how they turned out. That doesn’t happen here!
Designs are easy to customize
The customization that you can do through Basic Invite is amazing. They have over 180 colors to choose from and you can customize just about every element.
This truly sets them apart from some of the other online stationery brands. They even have some metallic colors to choose from. Aside from senior graduation invitations, Basic Invite also has party invitations and business stationery. I picked out this simple thank you note (again, you can totally customize the fonts and colors). It’s hard to see in this photo but this card has just a swash of pink and few light grey dots, keeping it super simple and chic.
The personalization makes it extra special. It would be a really smart idea to add-on some personalized thank you notes to your graduation announcement order.
Celebrate your grad with custom announcements
Basic Invite offers over 40 colors of envelopes to choose from. That is great for people, like me, who like to be in charge of all the details. Plus all the envelopes are peel and stick so they close quickly and securely.
As someone who sends out about a billion Christmas cards every year, that means something! Basic Invite also offers a free address collection service!
All you have to do is share a link with your mailing list, have them fill in their address and get free envelope printing. This would be a great time saver!
Basic Invite has amazing options for graduation announcement cards and more! Head to their site to check out all their designs!
