My family LOVES the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival! It’s our favorite time to visit the park! You get all the usual fun of the amusement park, but even more amazing options for delicious food and beverages! My family was invited to a complimentary day at the park to experience Knott’s Boysenberry Festival first hand. All opinions are my own. And in my opinion, wine tasting and roller coasters in one place is extra awesome.

The Boysenberry Festival at Knott’s Berry Farm runs through April 8 and you don’t want to miss it! Our family spent a day at the park last weekend and had the best time. We’re big fans of Knott’s Berry Farm already, but the Boysenberry Festival makes it even more fun.
Not only can you find amazing boysenberry themed dishes and drinks throughout the park, you can actually buy boysenberry plants! My kids wanted to take one home with us but with my black thumb the little plant would have probably died before we even got to the car. My kids are finally both tall enough to ride all the rides which meant this visit included us waiting in really long lines to ride their favorite ride, Ghostrider. It’s my least favorite but I suffered through for the kids. Throughout the festival you can continue to do all your favorite Knott’s things, like riding Accelerator and panning for gold.
Food and Wine During Knott’s Boysenberry Festival
They make it really easy to try out the special Boysenberry Festival items found in the park. Just purchase a tasting card (drink tasting cards are sold separately) and head to the area of the park noted. We headed straight to the Boysenberry Short Ribs since that was my favorite item from the media tasting I attended.
They updated the tasting cards this year to give you more flexibility with the items you can get which is awesome. We found that we wanted two of certain things and skipped others. The map on the back of the tasting card shows you exactly where to find each item. My son said the Boysenberry Chicken Wings were the best wings he’d ever had! The beer and wine tasting takes place in the Wilderness Dance Hall, near Ghost Town. It’s a really fun place to check out in between rides. Your tasting card lets you try a variety of wines from all over.
You can’t pass up the boysenberry wine! It tastes a lot like boysenberry punch with a hint of wine. It was way sweeter than I would usually drink but now I can say I’ve had boysenberry wine. Not everyone can say that. I wasn’t sure how the beer and wine tasting would go since we had the kids with us but it was super easy. The kids could come in with us as we selected our choices and you can carry the drinks around the park with you as long as you have the 21 and over wrist band.
I was really glad about that because I knew the kids would not be cool with us spending time in one place when they would rather be riding a ride.
Activities to do During the Boysenberry Festival
Right across from the dance hall is an adorable little building where you can make your own mini boysenberry pie! There are so many fun activities to do around Knott’s Berry Farm that if your group isn’t interested in getting crazy on the coasters, there are tons of other things to keep you busy. All your favorite family entertainment is still available during the Boysenberry Festival. The shows are a great way to rest your feet and take a breather from running around. And sipping on some wine while watching a show with the kids totally doesn’t suck. There are also special vendors during the festival so you can shop and explore cool items to take home with you. We had such a great time at the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival! It’s the perfect place to share a drink with friends! So grab your friends and family and head down to experience it for yourself before it’s over.
