Alexa Smart Home Devices to Check Out
I’ve already shared how awesome it is that my smart smoke alarm is that works with Alexa to keep your family safe, but there are a ton of other great products that will help get the most out of Alexa and make your life a little easier!
The first Alexa controlled device to consider is the Amazon Echo ($99). I think for most families, this is the starter smart Alexa product. This handy smart speaker will quickly become the hub of your smart home because it can easily control your entire house with simple voice controls. We love to listen to our Spotify playlists on this speaker and my husband always uses Alexa for reminders and timers.
We haven’t even scratched the surface of what the Echo can do yet. Although I have heard you can make her fart and I am just PRAYING that my boys don’t figure this out!

Amazon Smart Plug
For a budget-friendly way to add smart technology to your home, consider adding an Amazon Smart Plug ($24.99) to a traditional outlet. Then, anything plugged into that smart outlet, from your coffee maker to a table lamp, can easily be turned on and off using voice control and Alexa.
Um, this smart plug situation means I can turn on my coffee pot before even getting out of bed! GENIUS! I also love that the size isn’t too bulky and you can use the other plug in the outlet without any issues.

Nest Learning Thermostat
Keep your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer, while also conserving energy and saving money on your electric bill with the Nest Learning Thermostat ($215.99). And you can easily adjust the temperature in any room by connecting your smart thermostat with Alexa! This is the epitome of smart devices. Over time, it will figure out your patterns and set your thermostat for you!
I love that it also reminds you to change your filters! That’s something I never remember to do! I wasn’t sleeping with the heater on (you can find out why in my Smart Smoke Alarm post) so the idea that I could turn on the heater without getting out from under my cozy comforter really makes me happy!

LG Ultra HD Smart LED TV
With 4K Ultra HD, the picture on this LG Smart LED TV ($356) is amazing. But you’ll also love the connectivity it provides with its intelligent voice controls that are Alexa compatible. I’m a TV addict and the quality of the picture just keeps getting better and better! But this TV technology makes your TV the hub of the home!
Being an Alexa enabled device means it can entertain your family in all kinds of ways and this is definitely on my wishlist!
Fire TV Stick
To host all your streaming options in one place, the Fire TV Stick ($39.99) is a great choice. And you can easily control what you watch using Alexa compatible voice commands and the remote control. I know tons of people who have given up paying for cable in favor of streaming. I’m not sure that I could ever do that! But this device means that you can access TONS of content on a regular old TV (but even more if you have an upgraded TV)!

Alexa Enabled Devices for Your Home
You’ll always know who’s at your door, even when you’re not home, thanks to this smart doorbell. And the Ring Doorbell ($199) is Alexa compatible, which means you can set up your Alexa device to alert you when someone is at the door. I love that, when paired with the Echo, you can have a two-way conversation without even going to the door.
I love the idea of this device for knowing who is at your door and being able to send solicitors away without even getting up!

Philips Hue LED Starter Kit
Smart light bulbs are another way to make your life a little easier with Alexa compatible smart devices. The Phillips Hue LED Starter Kit is supposed to help you save money on your electric bill! And living in California, where you run your air conditioner forever it seems like, this is great news! Plus, you can easily control the lights in any room by giving a simple voice command to your Alexa device when paired with your Hue.
Seriously, this is even better than The Clapper!

Alexa Smart Home Devices to Make Mom Life Easier!
THIS is the product that I really want!!! But I refuse to spend money on this or put it on my birthday list. It is a vacuum after all. :) This Alexa compatible device will take care of your vacuuming for you. Simply connect your iRobot Roomba ($269.99) to your Amazon Echo through your wireless network and tell the vacuum to start running while you relax on the couch watching your favorite show. And you KNOW I love TV!!!

August Smart Lock Pro
You’ll never have to worry about forgetting your keys again with this simple smart home device. The August Smart Lock Pro ($226) allows you to lock and unlock your doors by giving Alexa a voice command. This one sounds great to me especially since our door locks when it closes and there have been a few times we’ve been locked out.
But I’ve also been watching a lot of FBI TV shows and feel like a techy person could easily get into my home (irrational, I know). But something like this would be so great for my sis-in-law who almost never knows where her keys are…
Aker Roar Viva Pro
With the Aker Roar Viva Pro ($69.99) you can bring Alexa with you while you travel! This handy smart device allows you to make your car more connected by providing USB ports for charging, streaming music (doesn’t work with Spotify which is a huge bummer), or give you directions as you drive. I LOVE this idea!
This is so great for driving around your own town but even better if you are on a road trip or a new city! I love that you can easily get information without having to touch your phone AND it has charging ports! You can always use more charging ports!
