Is there anything more fun than shopping for the little ones at the holidays?! I LOVE to shop for my boys and I buy them things I know that they will love. So here is my 2014 Gift Guide for Kids. Since I mostly buy gifts for boys, my gift guides are probably a little guy heavy, but I always try to find some fun things for the little gals on my list too. Also, I don't have many babies to buy for so these gifts are for kids, more so than babies or toddlers. But I think you will find some fun things on this list!
My boys have always loved books. My oldest finally loves reading for himself which makes me so happy! I was an avid reader and I just knew he would like it at some point too. While these books aren't chapter books like he has been reading through at a rapid pace, these are books that he would totally be in to. And we read to my youngest every night before bed. He loves hearing new books but we rotate in old favorites very often. Here are some great books for all the personalities on your list.
The Book with No Pictures :: Jim Curious: A Voyage to the Heart of the Sea :: Unbored: The Essential Field Guide to Serious Fun :: Art2-D2's Guide to Folding and Doodling :: L Is for Lollygag :: Project Kid :: Pranklopedia: The Funniest, Grossest, Craziest, Not-Mean Pranks on the Planet! :: Lowriders in Space :: Rosie Revere, Engineer
I'm going to be honest, my boys don't love opening clothes on Christmas morning. But they are pretty in to their personal style and I notice a few days later, they have all their new clothes on at once. Like, my birthday shirt tradition, I usually buy them a great t-shirt for Christmas. And since the holidays are the perfect time for dressing up, I've added in a few pieces for them to wear to your annual holiday gatherings. If you have a food allergy sufferer on your Christmas list, they will love this “May contain…” shirt. When you live your life reading labels to find bad things, this shirt is a super fun way to poke fun at the allergy world for once. And does anyone else wish they make those gold high tops in adult sizes?
crown headband :: may contain shirt :: chill out sweatshirt :: hot dog scarf :: babe shirt :: furry sweater :: be kind raglan :: alright shirt :: joyful shirt :: tiger sweatshirt :: gold high tops :: tuxedo shirt and bow tie
I couldn't pass up this gem rattle! Pair it with a cute onesie and you've got the perfect holiday baby gift. And while I have never been in to the American Girl dolls (probably only because my boys have never asked for them), I am WAY in to Julie. Julie is modeled after a 70's girl and is a total hippie. And I love it. I like to mix up the toys with some imaginative play stuff as well as some modern, battery operated ones. Robot Turtles is a mix of both. I can't wait to give it to my kids this year. It is a board game that teaches the beginning principles of computer programming. Which both of my boys have expressed an interest in. See, learning CAN be fun!
Gem Rattle :: American Girl – Julie Doll :: K'nex Plants vs. Zombies- Jetpack Zombie Attack Building Set :: Goldie Blox and The Movie Machine :: Whoa Bots :: HEXBUG Tony Hawk Circuit Boards Halfpipe :: Zoomer Dino :: Cooking Mama 5 :: Zoomer Zuppies Interactive Puppy – Spot :: Robot Turtles :: Chunky Checkers :: Flashlight
And of course, my boys love to be outside and the Crazy Cart is at the top of their list this year. I hope Santa comes in to some money real quick… My oldest beat boxes and listens to music all the time. This DJ equipment that works with an iPad would be super cool for him.
I always like to give the kids something practical. This piggy bank works with apps to help them learn the value of a penny and how to prioritize saving, spending and giving. Such a cool idea! Porkfolio
