My family is in a totally interesting stage right now. My kids are kind of too old for toys. Well, my youngest still loves them, but my oldest isn’t entertained by plastic figures and the like. I put together this list of gift ideas for kids to help you come up with ideas for your own family. Hopefully.
So what do you get for kids who are around 10 and 11? I try to look for things that will keep them busy like a book series that they enjoy or find something that will help them expand on an area that they have shown interest. For my oldest I’m thinking about getting him a premium account to something like Skillshare so he can learn how to edit the videos he wants to make. And for my youngest, I got him a session at a local art studio to throw pottery which he has been asking to do. Video games seem to still be a great idea for them too and luckily several showed up on their Christmas lists. And while they might not LOVE the idea, cool clothes are starting to be a fun idea again at this age. They are finally starting to show some individual style and want to express themselves through clothes. And yes, Yeezy’s showed up on his Christmas list…I did find a pair for $419, which is much less than the $999 price tag her wrote next to it on his list…champagne tastes…

No matter how old you are, I think Pie Face is a game each family has to have. It’s not nearly as messy as I thought it would be. This had us laughing so hard! The amount of whipped cream is far smaller than it could be and sometimes just plops right on someones nose. It’s great to play with all different ages too. My youngest son LOVEs Spot It. It’s a kind-of card game where you have to be the first person to spot something on the card. The box says it is for ages 7-11 and they have a few versions like the original and this “hip” version aimed at 13-30 year olds. And in my house, you can’t go wrong with a stuffed animal. If I only bought my 7-year-old stuffed animals for Christmas, that would be totally fine with him!
