You guys. If you are a mom and don’t own Lularoe leggings yet, you need to get some immediately. They are super comfortable and totally cute. By now, I’m sure you’ve heard about this company. Back when they started, you could order right off the site. Now they use consultants who do direct sales from their homes and host parties online or at other people’s houses (a similar model to Pampered Chef, etc.). I love a good legging and I couldn’t wait to try these out. I’d heard great things about the comfort and softness but I needed to see it for myself. So I found a local Lularoe consultant (if you are in Orange County, Alicia’s your girl!) and incidentally, won a pair in a raffle she held. Each consultant is sent a box of random Lularoe clothing. Which means, you never know what will be available to you. That concept is super hard for me as I love to wear a lot of black and I’m pretty particular about the prints and patterns of the printed leggings that I wear. I like the Lularoe leggings that I have on in this photo, but if I am being totally honest, I’m not sure I would have picked out such colorful leggings on my own. It was the best of the three I was offered as my prize. I’m not sure if they all do it this way but my Lularoe consultant launches Facebook parties every Wednesday. She posts all the items that she has in her inventory and you have to be the first to claim it. I have my eye on a black ‘perfect t‘ but who knows when I’ll come across one of those especially since I don’t actively participate in the weekly sales. I wish they would still sell online as well. For busy moms, the idea of having to stalk these online sales to find the pieces you really want is too time consuming.
The material is crazy soft and these are one size (0-12) or Tall/Curvy (10-20). Here is where the leggings bum me out a little. I got the one size, I’m about a size 8 or 10, a totally average sized woman. I feel like these are a little bit tight. Sure they are snug in the waist, and believe me, I don’t want a saggy bottom. But I don’t like how tight these are in the knee area. If pressed I would say that my knees are rather slender so I was surprised that these were tighter than I thought they should be. The waist sits high meaning it isn’t accentuating any of my muffin top which is great. But I haven’t worn these a ton because I don’t love how the material stretches (you know how it looks a little whiter when material is stretched??) at the knee. Probably a silly thing to not like about a pair of leggings but I want to give you my honest opinion. Lularoe sizing tends to run a bit large in the dresses and maxi skirts so I was surprised that the leggings seemed to be on the tighter side.
UPDATE: Since writing this post I decided to give these leggings a real chance. And I’m now wearing them for the second day in a row. While I still don’t love the fabric stretch at the knee, I’m a big fan of the comfort!
A NOTE FROM MY LULAROE CONSULTANT, ALICIA: Lularoe leggings can vary slightly in size depending on where they are made. The ones made in China tend to be a little bit larger than those made elsewhere.
The ones that I have were made in China so I now know to ask for those since I wouldn’t want any that are smaller.
I love to wear leggings but I always try to dress them up a little so they don’t look too much like workout pants. I paired my leggings with my favorite pair of fringe booties and a long black tunic and could wear this outfit just about anywhere. I like my clothes to be comfortable and cute and I think this outfit nails it. If I can get my hands on a medium-sized black ‘perfect t’ top I would wear these leggings all the time. I could even switch the look up and add some cute black converse with them or a little sandal. Do you have a pair of Lularoe leggings? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
