Opening Pandora’s Box

To start out, I have to tell you all how very excited I am that my new nephew has arrived. He is gorgeous and looks just like his brother. My kids are super excited too. My five year old told me that he is the “tiniest, sweetest thing she has ever seen EVER” and offered to stay a few days with her auntie to hold the baby for her. With that said, I expect S to be out of commission for awhile so I’ll do my best to keep the blog rolling. Its a little crazy that she’s the one who just had the baby and yet I’m the one who’s had trouble keeping up with things….at any rate, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year – its been awhile since I’ve been around (I know you all missed me s000 much. It was probably killing you that I’d been away for so long). So what kind of resolutions did you make this year? My list goes on forever. It starts with being more organized, but by now you all know that I am SO not the one who’s organized around here. I leave that up to S. Often, my disorganization adds to the stress and basic nuttiness of my party hosting. What do I mean by that? Well, I generally forget things, buy way too much of something or just generally have no idea what is going on when I’m trying to pull things together. And usually, its those last minute things that get me in trouble. Like music….I will go through the trouble of burning cds to set the mood and then – WHAM…forget to bring them with me. OR, if I am real honest….usually I don’t even burn cds, or set up a playlist on the ipod or even think about music until the first guest arrives and its too late. This is one of the things I LOVE about Pandora Radio. Basically, Pandora is an online music tool that will create your own “radio station” for you. You just put in the name of a song you like, and Pandora will create a whole station based on that song. So instantly, you can set up a station that will suit the mood of your event. And what if it chooses a song you don’t like? Just click the “I don’t like this song” button and it keeps those preferences in mind! Plus as a bonus, you might even find a new artist or two to download! Have fun!
