Take your family to Knott’s Berry Farm to experience the Boysenberry Festival before it ends! I’d venture to say it’s the best time for moms and dads to spend a day at the park, thanks to the special food and wine offered. My family was invited to a complimentary day at the park to experience the Boysenberry Festival first hand. All opinions are my own. And in my opinion, wine tasting and roller coasters in one place is extra awesome.
The Boysenberry Festival at Knott’s Berry Farm runs through April 23 and you don’t want to miss it! Our family spent a day at the park last weekend and had the best time. We’re big fans of Knott’s Berry Farm already, but the Boysenberry Festival makes it even more fun.
Not only can you find amazing boysenberry themed dishes and drinks throughout the park, you can actually buy boysenberry plants! My kids wanted to take one home with us but with my black thumb the little plant would have probably died before we even got to the car. My kids are finally both tall enough to ride all the rides which meant this visit included us waiting in really long line to ride some of the rides for the very first time. Throughout the festival you can continue to do all your favorite Knott’s things, like riding Accelerator and panning for gold.
They make it really easy to try out the special items you can find around the park. Just purchase a tasting card (drink tasting cards are sold separately) and head to the area of the park noted. We headed straight to the boysenberry pizza since that was my favorite item from the media tasting I attended. They punch off the items as you get them and you can do these one after the other or spread it out throughout your visit. We also had to get the meatballs because they are delicious and easy to share! And don’t miss the panna cotta! My whole family loved that! You also can’t pass up the boysenberry wine! It tastes a lot like boysenberry punch with a hint of wine. It was way sweeter than I would usually drink but now I can say I’ve had boysenberry wine. Not everyone can say that. And look at that color! The main beer and wine tasting takes place in the Wilderness Dance Hall. I wasn’t sure how that would go since we had the kids with us but it was super easy. The kids could come in with us as we selected our choices and you can carry the drinks around the park with you as long as you have the 21 and over wrist band. I was really glad about that because I knew the kids would not be cool with us spending time in one place when they would rather be riding a ride.
The wines offered were pretty darn delicious. As with the food cards, they punch your tasting card to keep track of how many tastes you’ve had. And right across from the dance hall is an adorable little building where you can make your own boysenberry pie! There are so many fun activities to do around Knott’s Berry Farm that if your group isn’t interested in getting crazy on the coasters, there are tons of other things to keep you busy. All your favorite family entertainment is still available. The shows are a great way to rest your feet and take a breather from running around. And sipping on some wine while watching totally doesn’t suck. This was the first boysenberry festival we’ve been to and it was a blast! It’s the perfect place to share a drink with friends! So grab your friends and family and head down to experience it for yourself before it’s over.
