DIY Confetti Shooter on You Are My Fave! {Guest Post}

If you haven’t already seen it, you should go check out my DIY Confetti Shooters on You Are My Fave.  They are super awesome, really easy and can be made over and over again with the same mini-push up containers.

Huge thank you to Dez and Tam for the amazing photos and Melanie for letting me guest post!

I Heart This: Heart shaped plastic cutlery in the cutest candy colors

WHAT?!  How cute are these Heart Parts from IHeart-This.com?!  Wait, what are they, you ask?  They are a fork.  Oh, and a knife.  Oh! and a scooper!  Yup, three in one.  And that is on each side of the heart!  So glad I was perusing Design Love Fest a few weeks ago and spied these.  I knew I had to have them for my son’s upcoming birthday party.  At that time, the web shop was not up yet but the owner, Fatima, gave me the BEST customer service and got these forks to me in the nick of time!

Each box contains 10 hearts (for $8.95), so really, when broken in half, that is 20 forks.  I thought they would be perfect for cake time.  Like my other parties, I like to cut the cake and let all the kids get nutty with it.  These forks were awesome!
There are 5 rad colors to choose from.  There are a ton of uses for these and I just know you party gals would use these in such unique ways!  Their branding is awesome, the site is super cool and I heart everything about them.  I can’t wait to use them again!  Oh yeah, you can also customize your hearts!  Boom.  Cool.

See more of the hearts on their blog.

Like them on Facebook.

Follow them on Twitter.

And how amazing are these photos?  Desi and Tammy shot my son’s birthday party last weekend and took these for me.  Consider the above cake photos the first sneak peek of the party. :)

A Safari Baby Shower by Operation Shower, Pottery Barn Kids and, well, me!

Sunshine Safari Printables by Paper and Cake

You guys!!  I’m super excited to be able to share some info about an amazing event that is coming up.  I’m still sort of in a dreamlike state about it.  I’ve been wanting to help out at an Operation Shower (you know, the group that puts on AMAZING baby showers for military families around the US?) and learned a few months ago that I would be able to when they came to San Diego.  I was ready to do whatever they needed.  If they asked me to unwrap 5,000 straws I’d do it in a heartbeat.  If Amy wanted me to walk around holding her hair in to a make shift ponytail because she forgot a hair band I totally would have done it.  But then I was asked to design a table!!!!  The coolest part?  A bunch of other bloggers (like, legit bloggers:  Hostess with the Mostess, The TomKat Studio, Sweets Indeed, Thoughtfully Simple, A Blissful Nest… the list goes on and on!) were also asked to design tables! For this Operation Shower each table will be designed by a different party gal but all of them will be based on the amazing printables designed by Abigail of Paper and Cake shown above.  I can’t wait to see how they all come out!!

Animal Banks from Pottery Barn Kids

May I blow your mind a little bit more?  This time around, Pottery Barn Kids is heavily involved in the shower (something tells me that is going to end well for the mom’s being pampered at the shower).  The fine, kind folks at Pottery Barn Kids have just introduced some new products, including, but not limited to, a safari theme.  They are very generously letting all of us use some pieces in each tablescape!  How rad is that??!

Canvas Wall Art by Pottery Barn Kids

You definitely need to go check out the new stuff online at Pottery Barn Kids and then you should make sure you are following the Pinterest board they set up for all of those involved in Operation Shower to pin to.  It has been a fun way to keep tabs on what the other designers are looking at and will be exciting to see if their tables turn out anything like what they have pinned.

Let me know if you need an invite to Pinterest!

Do not expect much blogging from me this week.  I am in full party prep for my son’s bday next weekend.  Then in the middle of the week I will be watching 5 children for 3 days with overnights and school drop offs, pick ups, meals, baths, the works.  I’m a little anxious about it but I’m sure I’ll be fine.  Gulp, right??

I wish all of you a fantastic new year!

Best of: Neon and Neutral {So Glad You Were Born} Party

My favorite party from 2011 would have to be this neon and neutral party I threw for my really good friend, Erika.  The decor was SO fun and I had an awesome time putting a ton of personal touches in to the party.  See the full party post here.  I was also pretty dang excited that it was my first time featured on Hostess with the Mostess!

A highlight for me this year was having this Baby Farm themed Sprinkle I held for my bff featured on On To Baby.  Head over to see the full gallery and all the fun details.  This was for baby #4.  #5 is due in May.  Time to start coming up with themes…
