Music Inspired Last Minute Valentine’s Printable

Have I mentioned that I like music (she writes sarcastically). I knew that I wanted to create a printable for Valentine’s Day based on this song lyric above by Jack White of the White Stripes. I have always loved this line from ‘Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground“. So I asked Lauren to design the printable since I am a mess with graphic design. They turned out awesome!

So if you have forgotten to do something special for your honey just print one of these out. Throw on some red lipstick and leave your mark at the top. Fold it up, seal it and you are ready to go. Easy.

Then one day I was listening to TV on the Radio on my iPod and I heard this lyric. At first I thought they were saying “promise” and it got me thinking. You really do have to be brave to be wholeheartedly in love. You give your entire self to someone and you even though it makes you vulnerable. You have to be brave to do that. And then I remember that the song is called “Province.” Hmmm. What the heck is that. So I looked it up and this lyric seems to be taken from a quote by Ghandi. And it pretty much means promise.

My husband and I don’t exchange gifts on Valentine’s Day. But making a cd of our favorite songs would be a great accompaniement. I’m in love with that striped fabric, aren’t you? I used my Xyron sticker maker to make the hearts sticky to put on the valentine and also seal it. Look at me being all crafty.

Press Play and Party {St. Vincent . Cruel}

I am a music lover. Certain songs prompt me to plan a party based on the mood the music gives me. This party inspiration board is based on St. Vincent’s song ‘Cruel’.

When I hear the song, I think of Disney princesses. But in a grown up sort of way. Why should little girls get all the fun? Wouldn’t it be cool to throw your friends a princess party?
This party would be a mix of fancy and totally casual. Of course the color pink would be the driving force throughout the party but other colors would be more than welcome. Especially royal blue. Oh NO you didn’t!

How decadent do these perfume bottles look when styled as cake? My friends would not hate going home with one of these as a party favor.

image: perfume Of course there would be nods to the Disney classics throughout the decor. Apples are a must {Snow White}. And yes, I glittered an apple because I wasn’t happy with any of the images I could find online. Crazy, party of one, your table is ready.

A glittery, mirrored garland would look perfect over a food table and some colorful wall art that a reminiscent of a spinning wheel would help bring the color {Sleeping Beauty}.

But I am all about comfort. So the dress code would be a mix of fabulous and chic with absolute comfort. Absolutely no heels allowed! Just about anything by Wildfox Couture or Haute Hippie would work. And of course, Ban.do can dress your head like nobody’s business.
